Shawna Bradshaw ~ Homeopathic Physician

Shawna BradshawShawna Bradshaw, B.A., D.S. Hom. Med., is passionate about helping families to live life in good health – especially those who have endured health hardships without finding relief through traditional methods. As a homeopathic physician – and patient of homeopathy – Shawna brings natural insights and relief to those who have suffered quietly for too long…so they can get over it, naturally.

Shawna first discovered the benefits of homeopathy for herself by testing its claims – she used Arnica after surgery left her recovering from two broken feet and extreme pain to “get back on her feet.” The alternative pain remedy worked…and Shawna was open to the possibilities of how natural healing could help her family.

For years, traditional medicine failed to help her eight-year-old daughter, Cassandra, who suffered from chronic ear infections. Repeated rounds with specialists who prescribed drugs, ear plugs, and syringing the ears with water, which often burst her ear drums, left the young child with hearing loss and a prognosis that nothing further could be done. But within one month of her first visit to a homeopath, the infections that plagued Cassandra were 50% better – and eight months later her hearing was restored and the incessant ear infections were gone.

Shawna knew she was on the path to a new career and enrolled in the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine. The ultimate test came when she faced a life and death situation head on.

Diagnosed with a severe allergy to aspartame, Shawna was told to always carry an EpiPen…but she felt being “careful” was good enough. Then one night she was coaxed to try a new recipe, unaware the beverage contained this lethal ingredient to her system. Within moments, an odd sense coursed through her throat and she knew she was in trouble. With no EpiPen available, and only one year of homeopathy training to rely on, she pushed aside her fear and put her faith in her studies. As her airway closed, she used the remedy Apis…and within one minute her breathing stabilized. Five minutes later, she was breathing normally.

Shawna’s experiences have shown her she was on the right path to help other families through natural healing. Her practice focuses on women’s issues and supports them homeopathically in the areas of PMS, libido, and emotions. Plus, her earlier work as a Child and Family Consultant (Shawna holds a double degree in child studies and sociology) in Chatham-Kent at Heritage Children’s Center with special needs children, including ADD, ADHD, autism, behavioural problems, cerebral palsy, spinal bifida, and epilepsy has helped her focus her homeopathic practice in this area.

Shawna has been published in C-K Child. She has worked with many association in Chatham Kent to educate the public about the alternative services available in the Chatham area that support children and moms.
